Sinopec Sees 1% Growth in 2020 Gas Output

Chinese state Sinopec expects to produce 30bn m3 of natural gas in 2020, up 1.1% yr/yr, it said on November 19 in a statement.

The company added that it has achieved success with shale gas production this year. The company launched development in April of the Weirong shale gas field, which at its peak will flow 3bn m3/year of gas.  It also increased its estimate for proven reserves at the Fuling shale gas field by almost 192bn m3 last month. 

State-owned companies dominate the country’s oil and gas exploration sector. China's overall production came to 153.4bn min January through October, a yr/yr increase of 9%, according to data published on November 16 by the National Bureau of Statistics.
