Sinopec Updates on Southwest Subsidiary

Chinese state Sinopec’s subsidiary Southwest Oil and Gas Company produced 3.23bn m3 of natural gas during the first six months of the year, Sinopec said July 8 without offering a year-on-year comparison.

Southwest Oil and Gas Company sold 3bn m3 of natural gas during the aforementioned period, Sinopec added.

The company is located in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and engaged in oil and gas exploration, marketing and other relative business in southwest China. The exploration area of Southwest Oil and Gas Company is mainly distributed in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi.

Southwest Oil and Gas Company has drilled 26 wells in the Weirong shale gas field, which is Sinopec’s second main shale discovery after Fuling project in the Chongqing municipality, Sinopec said.
