Sinopec Tianjin Terminal Receives Over 3mn mt of LNG

Sinopec’s Tianjin LNG import terminal has unloaded more than 3mn metric tons of LNG during the period January 1 to July 8, Sinopec said July 10 without offering a year-on-year comparison.

The terminal has received 45 LNG vessels during the aforementioned period. It has supplied 70,500 mt of LNG via trucks and about 3.5bn m3 of regasified LNG via pipeline to customers downstream, Sinopec said.

In May, the terminal received 10 LNG vessels, a record for a single month, Sinopec said last month. The terminal began commercial operations in February 2018 with a cargo from Australia. It supplies to downstream customers in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong.

In addition to its Tianjin terminal, Sinopec operates a terminal at Beihai and at Qingdao in Shandong province.
