Sinopec Tianjin Import Terminal Sets Record

Sinopec’s Tianjin LNG import terminal received 10 LNG vessels in May, a record for a single month, the company said June 12.

Since the start of operations in February last year, the terminal has unloaded 79 vessels or 5.3mn metric tons of LNG, Sinopec said. The terminal has supplied 5.7bn m3 of regasified LNG via pipeline to customers downstream

The terminal began commercial operations in February 2018 with a cargo from Australia. Its capacity is 3mn mt/year and can supply 4bn m³/yr of regasified LNG to downstream customers in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong.

In addition to its Tianjin terminal, Sinopec operates a terminal at Beihai and at Qingdao in Shandong province.
