Sinopec starts work on Chongqing’s first hydrogen station

State-run Sinopec has started construction of Chongqing municipality's first commercial hydrogen refuelling station, it said on April 13.

The station will have a refuelling capacity of 1,000 kg/day and is expected to refuel about 100 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles/day. The project is expected to be put into trial operation in August this year.

Sinopec said that it is planning to build 30 hydrogen refuelling stations in Chongqing in the next five years. This will help in the formation of a hydrogen corridor in the Shuangcheng Economic Circle in Chongqing.

The company last month said it will establish 1,000 hydrogen refuelling stations across China during the next five years.
