Sinopec Starts Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Guizhou

Chinese state-run Sinopec has commissioned the first hydrogen refuelling station in Liupanshui City in the southwestern province of Guizhou, it said on March 16.

The station has a supply capacity of 500 kg/day and will provide hydrogen refueling services for the first hydrogen bus line in Guizhou province. According to Sinopec, this move will help promote the greater use of hydrogen in the province.

Sinopec plans to open 1,000 hydrogen refuelling stations during the next five years, its president Ma Yongsheng said during the Two Sessions recently held in Beijing. Sinopec has already set up hydrogen refuelling stations in Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guangxi, among others, and 10 oil-hydrogen mixing stations are now in operation. It currently produces 3.5mn metric tons/year of hydrogen.
