Sinopec finds shale gas reserves in Hubei province

Chinese state-owned energy company Sinopec has discovered 105bn m3 of shale gas reserves in Hubei province in central China, it said on January 19.

The Hongye 2HF well has been in trial operation for 20 days, with its daily shale gas output volume remaining stable, the company said. The Hongye 2HF well is the second to have a stable output. The first well, Hongye 1HF, has produced more than 20mn m3 of shale gas, it said.
