Sinopec commissions four new wells at Fuling field

State-run Sinopec has commissioned four new wells at the Fuling shale gas field in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Xinhua news agency reported on February 1.

The four new wells add 180,000 m3/day of gas supply, bringing the field's total to 20mn m3/d.

Fuling, situated in central southwest China's Sichuan basin, became operational in 2014 and serves as a key source of supply for the Sichuan-East pipeline. 

Sinopec recently added 104.9bn m3 of proven reserves, bringing the field’s total proven reserves to nearly 900bn m3, accounting for 34% of China's total proven reserves of shale gas.
