Singapore's Pavilion Energy Seeks to Jointly Procure LNG With Japan's Chubu

Temasek portfolio company Pavilion Energy is looking at joint procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Japan's Chubu Electric Power, Pavilion Chief Executive Seah Moon Ming said at a conference in Singapore on Wednesday, reported Reuters.

"Pavilion Energy is looking at a possible collaboration on joint procurement of LNG supply and shipping capacity optimization opportunities with Chubu Electric Power," the chief executive said at the Singapore International Energy Week.

Buyers in Asia have been seeking to reduce cost of imported LNG by going in for joint procurement. Last month, Chubu inked preliminary a deal with TEPCO to buy LNG together. The combined entity will pack about 40 million metric tons of demand a year. 

Pavilion, which was established last year, is looking to enhance and diversify its LNG portfolio to deliver sustainable and competitive LNG supply to Asia.  The Singapore based company recently entered into LNG supply deals with BP and Total
