Singapore LNG appoints Leong Wei Hung as new CEO

Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) on January 31 announced a planned leadership transition, with Leong Wei Hung set to succeed Tan Soo Koong as the CEO with effect from April 7, 2024. In preparation for this change, Leong will assume the role of CEO (designate) from February 1.

Leong, currently a non-executive director of the SLNG board since May 2022, brings with him over 28 years of industry experience. His career was primarily with the Shell Group, where he held various roles across refining, chemicals, trading, and supply. He served in both Singapore and the UK.

Outgoing CEO, Tan, will retire with effect from April 6. He joined SLNG in April 2019.

SLNG operates one LNG import terminal that began commercial operations in May 2013 and currently operates with two jetties, three storage tanks of 180,000 m3 each, a fourth storage tank of 260,000 m3, and a peak send-out capacity of around 11mn tonnes/year.

The company is planning to develop its second LNG import terminal.
