Shizuoka Gas Signs Deal with Shell to Supply Reload LNG Cargo

Shizuoka Gas has signed a deal to supply first reload LNG cargo from its Shimizu LNG terminal to Shell Eastern Trading (Pte.) Ltd.

The city gas supplier has converted Shimizu LNG terminal into a bi-directional terminal by adding reloading facilities in April.

Shizuoka Gas said it is seeking further utilizations of Shimizu LNG terminal to achieve the reduction of LNG cost in the newly deregulated gas market. “Shizuoka Gas is continuously committed to pursuing the possibilities for the reduction of LNG cost by increasing transaction volumes at Shimizu LNG terminal and taking advantage of liquidity in expanding global LNG market.”

The cargo will be shipped to Shell Eastern on a free-on-board basis (FOB) in the first quarter of 2017, the company said on June 10.
