Serbia Receives Gas Discount from Gazprom

Serbian state-owned energy company Srbijagas has announced that it has received a discount from Russian gas supplier Gazprom for gas supply to the company. The 12 per cent discount will apply to gas purchased in the first quarter of 2012.

In a statement from the company, Srbijagas says that it will pay $478 per 1,000 cubic feet of natural gas as opposed to $545 cost previously expected.

Srbijagas says the annex will apply until the company signs a new long-term agreement of gas imports from its Russian suppliers.
