Senex Drills 15 Wells in Oz Surat Basin

Australian Senex Energy has drilled the first 15 wells of the approximately 110-well Surat Basin campaign in Queensland, it said September 3.

Senex has drilled and completed the first five wells of its approximately 60-well Project Atlas drilling campaign. “Drilling is continuing on schedule with completed wells to be connected to the Project Atlas gas compression station from October 2019,” it said.

Construction of the Project Atlas gas compression station is on schedule, with first sales gas expected late 2019. Initial Project Atlas firm gas sales agreements with domestic customers will commence from January 1, 2020, Senex said.

In Roma North, the company has drilled and completed the first 10 wells of its approximately 50-well drilling campaign. “Recent completion of the gathering network trunkline has enabled Senex to tie the first four wells into the Roma North gas compression station,” it said.

“We continue to deliver our Surat Basin gas developments on schedule, on budget and with excellent safety and environmental performance. The initial results from both Roma North and Atlas production areas are of high quality and are a great start to the campaign,” CEO Ian Davies said.
