Seaside LNG takes delivery of third LNG bunker barge

Seaside LNG and its bunkering subsidiary, Polaris New Energy (PNE) said October 24 they had taken delivery of a second LNG bunker barge, Clean Everglades, from Wisconsin shipbuilder Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, bringing its fleet to three bunker barges.

Clean Everglades is an articulated tug barge that holds 5,500 m3 of LNG and is a sister ship to another LNG barge from Fincantieri, Clean Canaveral, which was delivered two years ago and has performed more than 65 LNG bunker deliveries.

“Polaris New Energy is excited to continue to expand the LNG bunkering infrastructure in the US,” Seaside LNG CEO Tim Casey said. “The delivery of the Clean Everglades gives us the ability to expand our LNG bunkering business to the Gulf of Mexico.”

With the addition of Clean Everglades, PNE now has the largest fleet of Jones Act-compliant bunkering vessels in the US, comprised of Clean CanaveralClean Jacksonville and tug Polaris and Clean Everglades and tug Tortuga.

Alongside its 100% ownership of PNE, Seaside LNG owns 50% of JAX LNG, a small-scale LNG production facility in Jacksonville, Florida producing 360,000 gallons/day of LNG from two operating liquefaction trains.
