Schlumberger, Aker, Subsea 7 form R&D partnership

Schlumberger, Aker Solutions and Subsea 7 have formed a new joint venture aimed at unlocking subsea development efficiencies and innovation.

The idea is to allow customers at each of the partners to leverage more hydrocarbon reserves at upstream assets, while also reducing the time spent delivering new upstream projects.

Schlumberger, Aker Solutions and Subsea 7 will work together to maximise the geographical markets covered by their services and optimise engineering capabilities to achieve peak performance on behalf of clients.

Oilfield services giant Schlumberger has a global remit centred on four branch offices in Paris, Houston, London and the Hague. Norway-headquartered Aker Solutions and Luxembourg-based Subsea 7 provide oilfield and engineering services internationally, respectively serving 33 and 20+ operating markets.
