Saka Energi Indonesia Finds Gas Offshore East Kalimantan

Saka Energi Indonesia (SEI) has found gas reserves of more than 500 billion cubic feet in the South Sesulu (Sesulu block) in Penajam Paser Utara, off the coast of East Kalimantan, reported Jakarta Post newspaper.

Flow rate was reported to be 18 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). The discovery could potentially increase Indonesia’s gas reserves by 1.2 trillion cubic feet, an official stated Monday.

Full production target of the Sesulu block was expected to be achieved in 2019.

The Sesulu block is located around 60 kilometers from Balikpapan.
