Russian Gas Output Recovers in Sept

Russian natural gas production rose 4.8% month on month(m/m)  in September to 48bn m3the federal state statistics service reported on October 15. Output was down 0.4% year on year (yr/yr), however.

Production was also 9.4% lower yr/yr in January through September.

LNG output was flat both yr/yr and m/m at 2.5mn metric tons. But it was up 3.8% yr/yr in the first nine months of the year at 22.5mn mt.

Gazprom, Russia's biggest gas producer, has cut back supplies to its main market Europe this year because of the impact of coronavirus pandemics, high levels of gas in storage and competition from LNG.
