Russian Gas Output Climbs 6.4% in Feb

Russian gas production averaged 2.216bn m3/day (62bn m3) in February, marking a 6.4% growth year on year, on the back of higher output rates at Gazprom and Novatek.

Production was also 0.1% higher month on month, VTB Capital reported on March 3, citing data released by the Russian energy ministry. Gazprom produced 1.532bn m3/d of gas last month, up 9.4% yr/yr and up 1.1% m/m, whereas Novatek supplied 205.4mn m3/d, up 6.9% y/y but down 5.8% m/m.

Rosneft extracted 109.3mn m3/d of gas, down 11.7% y/y but up 0.5% m/m, while Lukoil flowed 55.4mn m3/d of gas, down 7.7% y/y and down 1.9% m/m. Surgutneftegas produced 25.3mn m3/d, up 6.4% y/y and 0.1% m/m.
