Romgaz Extends Interim DG's Mandate

Romanian state gas producer and marketer Romgaz said April 13 it has extended its interim director general's mandate, Corin Emil Cindrea, for another two months, to June 14.

He had been Romgaz deputy general director until December 2017.

Cindrea's appointment as interim chief then was made for a period of four months, with the possibility of extension up to six months.

The previous director-general Virgil-Marius Metea was sacked in December for "management deficiencies and lack of compliance" after having been reappointed for a further four years in June 2017.  Media reports said he was under investigation for selling off gas too cheaply.
