Revised Russian Ukraine Gas Deal Expected in Days, Ukrainian PM Says

A revised version of the 2009 gas deal between Russia and Ukraine could be ready in days, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said. In a statement on Ukraine's government site, Mr. Azarov said that talks between the two countries were "nearing the end."

"The negotiations that have been held at the presidential level and at the level of the chiefs of the fuel and energy companies show--and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin confirmed this yesterday--that the negotiations are nearing completion and we could reach compromise solutions within the next few days," he said in the statement. 

Mr. Azarov has not given details of the deal yet, saying that those will be announced once the deal is complete.
