Regal Reports Strong Flows in Ukraine

Ukraine-focused Regal Petroleum has achieved strong flows of gas and condensate at a new well at the Svyrydivske field in the Poltava region, it said on May 22.

The SV-54 development well was spudded in October last year and has been drilled to a depth of 5,322 metres, targeting production from the field's B-22 and B-23 reservoirs in the Visean formation, Regal said. The well achieved "strong" test flows from the B-23 reservoir and has been connected with gas processing facilities to enable longer-term production testing. It is currently producing at a stable flow rate of 2.8mn ft3/d of gas and 40 b/d of condensate.

"We are delighted with the results of this new well, which was drilled safely and successfully, and well ahead of schedule. The flow rates demonstrated are excellent and a significant boost to our overall production volumes," CEO Sergii Glazunov said.

Regal operates the Mekhediviska-Golotvshinska, Svyrydivske and Vasyschevskoye fields in Ukraine. It produced 21.5mn ft3/d of gas, 739 b/d of condensate and 308 b/d of LPG last year.
