Norway’s 2015 Exports hit Annual, Daily Records

Gassco, the Norwegian state-run pipeline operator, delivered a record annual and daily amount of gas in 2015 to European customers, it said in a statement Tuesday.

Over the year it exported 108bn mof gas through pipelines it operates, to terminals in Germany, Belgium, France, and the UK. The amount is an increase of 7bn m3 on 2014, a year hit by production outages on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Last year it also achieved a daily record, with exports of 365.3mn m³ on November 22. In the statement, CEO Frode Leversund said capacity and availability were particularly strong for the pipeline operator last year, particularly at the Kollsnes plant.

"Availability for delivering gas through the transport system exceeded 99% in 2015," he said. "More than 30% of Norwegian gas exports pass through our processing plant at Kollsnes near Bergen, where capacity utilisation was record-high last year."
