Rathlin starts tests at UK gas well

UK-based Rathlin Energy has begun flow tests at its WNA-2 well at the PEDL183 in Yorkshire, northern England, its junior partner Union Jack Oil said on August 23.

Testing will continue for four to eight weeks, it reported in a statement.

PEDL183 contains the West Newton gas discovery, with best-case resources of 189bn ft3. Rathlin holds a 66.67% stake in the project, while Union Jack and Humber Oil & Gas each have 16.665%.
