Qatargas Delivers First Q-Flex LNG Cargo to Bangladesh

Qatargas has delivered the first Q-Flex LNG cargo to Bangladesh, The Peninsula reported September 23 citing a company statement.

The cargo was delivered to Excellence floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), known as Moheshkali LNG terminal, located offshore Bangladesh. The cargo, aboard Qatargas-chartered Al Thumama, was loaded at Ras Laffan on September 4 and delivered on September 20, the newspaper reported. Al Thumama is a Q-Flex class LNG vessel with an overall cargo carrying capacity of 216,000 m3.

The Moheshkali terminal is a project jointly developed by Excelerate Energy and the state-owned Petrobangla. The FSRU Excellence is under a 15-year charter deal to Petrobangla and carried the inaugural LNG cargo from Qatar in April 2018.

The deliveries to Petrobangla are made under a long-term signed in September 2017 between Qatargas and Petrobangla to supply up to 2.5mn metric tons/year 15 years.
