Pure Hydrogen's Botswana CBM well exceeds pre-drill estimates

Sydney-listed Pure Hydrogen Corp on August 12 said Serowe-3 well in Botswana encountered 41 m of gassy coals with an estimated flow rate of 54 barrels/day of water. The coal thickness is more than double the pre-drilling estimates.

Pure Hydrogen currently has 100% of project Serowe and is free carried to 51% with partner BotsGas funding the farm-in appraisal programmes. The companies signed a joint operating agreement for the Serowe project in December last year.

“This excellent result for Serowe-3. The well encountering much thicker coals and natural permeability has exceeded our pre-drill expectations. This bodes very well for the remainder of the Serowe project appraisal programme which continues in the next few weeks,” Pure Hydrogen managing director Scott Brown said.

“The current drilling program is looking more likely to confirm the presence of a very large and potentially commercial gas field at the Serowe project. The Serowe project is well supported by the Botswana government and other stakeholders who are keen on divesting from coal and imported fuels thereby creating strong demand for natural gas,” Brown added.
