PGNiG Begins Production Testing at Komorze-3K

Polish gas explorer PGNiG has begun testing at the Komorze-3K well in the Wielkopolska province of Poland, the company said in a statement today.

On a statement released on its website, the company says that is carrying out production testing on the well, with completed analysis of the results expected by the end of this year. Gas shows were observed last month on the well at depths of between 3,971 and 3,985 metres.

The company will continue testing of the well in preparation for the well to be put into production. Total reserves on the conventional prospect are estimated to total around one billion cubic metres of gas.

Partner on the field FX Energy has previously pointed to the similarity of the Komorze-3K well to its own Lisewo-1 Rotliegend discovery well, which is is located less than 4 kilometres from the Komorze-3K well.

Last month, FX Vice President of Operations Andy Pierce said the similarity was so encouraging that the companies were foregoing a drill stem test (DST) and launching straight into the production testing PGNiG announced today.

PGNiG is the operator of the Komorze-3K well with a 51 per cent stake. FX Energy holds a 49 per cent stake in the project.
