PGNiG Joins Hungarian Gas Exchange

The gas supply and trading arm of Poland's PGNiG has joined Hungary's Ceegex gas spot exchange, the company said on social media on March 2.

"This is another step in the development of the company's position on the wholesale markets of central and eastern Europe," PGNiG said in a brief statement. PGNiG Supply & Trading already trades on gas exchanges in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

"We are glad to have you on board and wish you a successful trading," Ceegex said in its own notice.

Ceegex offers both day-ahead and intraday gas products. Some 2.57 TWh was traded on the exchange on a day-ahead basis in February, at an average daily price of 17.3 ($20.8)/MWh.
