PetroVietnam to Reduce Stake in PV Gas

Vietnam’s state owned energy company PetroVietnam is likely is reduce its stake in subsidiary PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV Gas) from 96.7 percent to 75 percent by 2015, reports Saigon Times, a local newspaper.

The moves is part of the company’s restructuring plan.

PetroVietnam is looking to sell 16.7-19.7 per cent to strategic partners and 2-5 percentage points to public, the newspaper reports.

PV Gas is looking for capable strategic partners with experience in operating gas pipeline and natural gas exploitation, Saigon Times adds.

Curently, PV Gas is involved in LNG project in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the first phase of Nam Con Son 2 project, Dai Hung and Thai Binh gas projects.
