Petrovietnam, Rosneft Talk Cooperation in Oil, Gas Sector

Petrovietnam and Rosneft have held discussions pertaining to bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The Vietnamese energy firm has invited Rosneft to invest in the continental shelf of the SouthEast Asian nation and also to support joint projects in Baren Sea region and Yakutia (Russia). There has also been a proposal to establish a joint venture between the two parties to search, explore and exploit oil and gas in the Russian Federation.

The two sides have appointed members to set up joint working group for each specific area of cooperation and agreed to accelerate cooperation to be signed in early 2013, Petrovietnam said in a statement put on oits website.
