Petrovietnam Launches $450mn Plant

Petrovietnam May 2 inaugurated the dong 10 trillion ($450mn) Ca Mau gas processing plant in southern Vietnam, it said May 3.

The plant can process 6.2mn m3/d of gas sourced from area offshore southern Vietnam. The project took two years to complete by Petrovietnam Gas. Once operational, it will supply around 600 metric tons/d of LPG and 35 mt/d of condensate to the market, meeting 10% of domestic demand, Petrovietnam said.

Speaking at the inauguration, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam said the project is very important for country’s energy security and a big development in Vietnam’s gas industry.

The first test gas was supplied to the plant in March 2017 while first successful commercial LPG shipment was dispatched in October last year. The plant was fully ready by December 2017.
