Petronas Launches LNG Trucking Business

Malaysian state-run Petronas has launched LNG trucking business to cater to off-grid customers in Peninsular Malaysia, it said October 18. Commercial operations are expected to start in the second half of next year.

Initially, the facility will have a capacity to load four tanker trucks, with the potential for further expansion, the company said.

Ezran Mahadzir, CEO of Petronas Energy & Gas Trading said the transport of LNG via trucks could also be the model to facilitate gas conversions for industries. He said LNG sourced from the Pengerang regasification terminal will be transported via trucks to off-grid customers located away from the main pipeline, as well as to small-scale customers.
