Petronas Extends Deadline for 2020 Licensing Round

State-run Petronas has extended the deadline for bids in the 2020 Malaysian licensing round until November 30 2020, due to nationwide Covid-19 travel restrictions imposed by the government, it said on July 28.

The round was launched in October last year and offers rights to eight exploration blocks coupled with four discoveries, as well as four discovered resource opportunity clusters.

The deadline for submitting technical reports has been changed to January 29 2021, it said.

This is the second time Petronas has extended the round's deadlines. In the last revision, the bidding deadline was moved to July 30, whereas the deadline for filing technical reports was pushed back to September 30 2020.
