PetroChina's Overseas Output Holds Steady

Chinese state-owned PetroChina’s overseas oil and gas production in 2020 was 109mn metric tons of oil equivalent, its parent CNPC said on January 8 without giving year/year comparison.

CNPC said that this was the second year in a row that PetroChina’s overseas oil and gas production crossed 100mn mt of oil equivalent mark. It shows that the company’s overseas oil and gas business has withstood the impact of Covid-19 epidemic and low oil prices, CNPC said.

CNPC on January 4 said its domestic oil and gas production in 2020 hit a record of 200mn mt of oil equivalent and gas production exceeded domestic crude oil output for the first time ever.
