PetroChina’s Jiangsu Terminal Jumps

PetroChina’s Jiangsu LNG terminal has unloaded and processed 5mn metric tons (mt) of LNG since the start of this year, more than during the whole of last year, CNPC, PetroChina’s parent company, said October 30, without providing last year’s figures.

Some media reports, published earlier this year, suggest that the terminal processed 4.4mn mt of LNG in 2017.

CNPC said also that work on the third phase of the terminal will start soon. Two new 200,000 m3 storage tanks will be built, along with related infrastructure. At present the terminal has handling capacity of 6.5mn mt/yr.

During the winter season, from November to March, PetroChina’s Jiangsu terminal is expected to supply 3.3bn m3of regasified LNG, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) said in a report October 11.

The terminal connects to the West-East Gas pipeline, which delivers gas to the central and eastern regions of China as well as to the Shaan-Jing pipeline, which supplies Beijing and the provinces of Shanxi, Hebei, and Tianjin.

In addition to the Jiangsu termial, PetroChina operates two other terminals: in Tangshan in Hebei province and Dalian in Liaoning province.
