PetroChina Finds Gas in Xinjiang: Xinhua
Chinese state PetroChina October 3 announced a gas discovery in Xinjiang's Tarim Basin, Xinhua reported the same day.
According to the news agency the company has “discovered a huge gas field” with an estimated reserve of 115.3bn m3. A PetroChina official said the company has completed a successful test of a well in the gas field, with the output of 418,200 m3/day of natural gas. The field is expected to start production in November.
The field is also estimated to contain 21.66mn metric tons of gas condensate, Xinhua reported.
