 - PetroChina appointed a former crude oil trading manager as the president of its oil and gas trading unit PetroChina International, several people with knowledge of the matter said on Friday.

Luo, in his mid-40s, joined Chinaoil's crude oil desk in Beijing in 2000 and was posted as a vice president for its London office in 2007 before taking over the presidency there.

In his London-based role, Luo also oversaw PetroChina International's joint-venture refinery and trading operations with British oil and chemicals company Ineos.

A spokesperson for China National Petroleum Corp, Petrochina's parent, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
