Pertamina Finds Oil, Gas in West Java

Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of Indonesia state Pertamina, has made an oil and gas discovery in West Java’s Jatibarang field, Pertamina said August 23.

The company discovered the reserves while drilling exploration well AMJ-001. The well was spudded in late-March and was completed August 20, Pertamina said. It was drilled to a depth of 2,517 meters.

During the production test, the well flowed 1,700 b/d of oil. The well also flowed gas and condensate, but Pertamina did not provide details about the flow. The company said the discovery paves way for further exploration in the area.

Jatibarang field is part of Asset 3 cluster of Pertamina EP.
