Pertagas Plans Oversea Acquisitions

PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, plans to acquire gas blocks overseas in an attempt to meet growing natural gas demand in Indonesia.

The company aims to build liquefied natural gas plants after acquiring these blocks. However, the company declined to reveal which blocks were being eyed.

Pertagas may also import gas from Qatar and Australia for the floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) in Central Java. The terminal has a total capacity of 3 million tons per annum (mtpa).

The company currently has a pipelines network of about 1,589 kilometers across the country.
