Singapore 'First' for Pavilion

Singaporean Pavilion Gas, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pavilion Energy, April 8 received its inaugural LNG cargo, which was delivered by Qatargas under a spot contract, at the Singapore LNG terminal.

The shipment was delivered to the Singapore LNG Receiving Terminal on Jurong Island onboard the Qatargas-chartered Q-Flex vessel Al Oraiq (see banner photo above, courtesy of Qatargas).

The LNG from a Q-Flex vessel will be regasified and delivered to Pavilion Gas’ customers. "Pavilion Gas is delighted to commence LNG imports into Singapore. This is a significant milestone for the company and demonstrates the company’s readiness and commitment to supply to the domestic market,” said Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, chairman of Pavilion Energy.

“Pavilion Gas will reliably and competitively supply our customers in Singapore from a portfolio of LNG and piped natural gas from Qatar, Indonesia, the US and international markets. Our unique blend of diversified supplies, operational excellence and commercial expertise enables us to be a trusted partner in Singapore and globally,” said Pavilion CEO Frederic BarnaudLast year, Pavilion Gas and Shell were awarded licences to import LNG into Singapore. Under the licence, Pavilion Gas will have exclusivity to market LNG for three years or up to 1mn mt/yr, whichever is earlier.

Qatargas said it delivered the commissioning cargo to the Singapore LNG receiving terminal in 2013. Of this weekend's cargo, it added: "The inaugural delivery of LNG to Pavilion is a milestone, as it is the first Qatargas delivery to be regasified and sold into Singapore's domestic market by Pavilion Gas."
