Pavilion Gas Bags LNG Bunkering Contract

Singaporean Pavilion Gas has been awarded an LNG bunker supply contract by PSA Marine for the supply of LNG bunker fuel from 2019, it said December 19.

LNG bunker fuel will be supplied to two dual fuel LNG harbour tugs, which will be owned and operated by PSA Marine. Both dual fuel LNG harbour tugs are scheduled for delivery in 2019.

“This is an important step forward for Pavilion Gas as LNG bunkering is a key driver for LNG demand growth. We look forward to playing a key role in developing the LNG bunkering ecosystem in Singapore and the region,” said Seah Moon Ming, who until January 31 is CEO of Pavilion Energy and Pavilion Gas.

In May 2017, Pavilion Gas successfully carried out the first LNG bunkering truck-to-ship capability demonstration in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Singapore is sharpening its focus on the LNG bunkering market and recently the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore injected another S$12mn ($8.9mn) into LNG bunkering in the Port of Singapore. Half of this S$12mn has been set aside to co-fund LNG bunker vessels to facilitate the development of ship-to-ship LNG bunkering in the port. The remaining half will be used to top up MPA’s existing co-funding programme to support the building of LNG-fuelled vessels.
