Pakistan's SSGC Approves LNG Import Plans

Pakistan's Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) on Tuesday gave conditional approval to a $2 billion service tolling contract to Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL) for the import of LNG for 15 years, an official told The News.

The LSA (LNG services agreement) will be negotiated and settled in six weeks, then the board of directors of SSGC would examine it and in case of satisfaction the summary for the formal approval will be sent to the economic coordination committee, the newspaper reported.

Earlier, the board of directors of the Inter State Gas System on November 21 recommended to SSGC to accord a formal approval to award the $2 billion services contract to EVTL.

Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, is a joint venture between Royal Vopak and Engro Corporation Limited.
