Pakistan Petroleum Flows Oil, Gas at Punjab Field

Pakistan Petroleum with its joint venture partners Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oilfields has discovered oil and natural gas at Adhi field in the province of Punjab, it said March 9.

The company said that it flowed oil and natural gas from exploratory well Adhi South X-1. The well flow rate for oil was recorded at 1,550 b/d while gas flowed at 2.62mn ft3/d. Adhi South X-1 was spud on June 30 2017 and was drilled down to 3,395 metres to test the potential of Khewra and Tobra formations.

“The newly discovered reserves will assist in plugging the demand supply gap in the country,” Pakistan Petroleum said.

Pakistan Petroleum is the operator of the field and has a 39% stake. OGDCL has a 50% stake while the remaining stake is held by Pakistan Oilfields.
