Pakistan Awards 11 Blocks to OGDCL

OGDCL has been provisionally awarded 11 explorations block in Pakistan following a bidding round held by the government this month, it said on January 28. 

The company was notified of the provisional awards by the directorate general of petroleum concessions (DGPC), it said. Three blocks awarded to OGDCL in Balochistan are shared with a joint venture partner. The remaining eight have been awarded on a 100%-basis and are located in the Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

The awards will be formalised after approval by the company's board, the execution of petroleum concession agreements with DGPC and necessary agreements with joint venture partners, and once regulatory procedures are completed.
