Oz Whitebark Updates on Canada Operations

Sydney-listed Whitebark Energy February 17 said its three wells at the Wizard Lake oil field in Canada are presently producing about 1,220 barrels/day of oil and 3.5mn ft3/day of natural gas.

Since connecting all the wells to the facilities, production has ranged from 1100-1270 b/d and 2.1-3.8mn ft3/d. “Over the coming weeks work will continue to determine the most appropriate long term production rates to ensure the integrity of the field is preserved and the wells and facilities are operating at maximum efficiency,” the company said.

Whitebark said it has started planning for the next wells with the well licenses for Rex 4 and 5 being received. The company holds between 50% and 100% working interest in the Wizard Lake oil field in the province of Alberta. Three wells drilled (Rex-1, 2 and 3), facilities and pipeline were constructed and again upgraded before the close of 2019. As per the company's website, 100% ownership of the field will be achieved during 2020.
