Oz Whitebark Starts Building Gas Pipe In Canada

Sydney-listed Whitebark Energy has started construction on the gas export pipeline from its Wizard field in Canada, it said November 1.

The new pipeline comprises a 3.1-km, 6-inch steel line which will be buried its entire length, the company said. The construction work is scheduled to be completed in mid-November.

Whitebark said it has also acquired a 4.7-km pipeline securing access to a pipeline gathering system and gas plant operated by Petrus Resources 14-km to the north-west, to which Wizard gas will be sent for processing and sales.

“The commencement of the pipeline construction work and complimentary acquisition is an important milestone and marks the beginning of the Wizard field infrastructure enhancement work which will enable WBE [Whitebark Energy] to generate significant cashflow from the existing and future wells,” managing director David Messina said.

Messina said the requirement to build the pipeline was brought forward by high flow rates from the Rex-2 well.
