Oz Valmec Wins Pipe Contract

Australian energy services company Valmec has been awarded a contract by gas distributor Jemena for facility construction work at Atlas gas pipeline project in Queensland.

The contract will be delivered on a turnkey basis and is valued at approximately A$22mn (US$15.75mn), Valmec said January 23, adding that work under the contract will start immediately, with the project due for completion later in 2019.

“We are delighted to be awarded this strategic project for Jemena and its project partner Senex Energy Limited on their Atlas gas project. We look forward to continuing to develop our strong relationship with Jemena and delivering yet another successful project,” said Valmec’s managing director Steve Dropulich.

Jemena will own and operate the Atlas Gas Processing Plant and Pipeline (AGPP), connecting Senex’s Atlas gas field in the Surat Basin in southeast Queensland with Jemena's Darling Downs pipeline and the Wallumbilla gas hub – the largest gas hub in the country.

Jemena will invest around A$140mn to build the gas plant and 60-km pipeline.
