Oz East Coast LNG Exports Up 23% in Oct

The three LNG export projects in the Australian state of Queensland shipped 1.98mn metric tons of LNG in October, up more than 23% yr/yr, the latest data published by Gladstone Ports Corporation showed.

The three export projects are ConocoPhillips-Origin Energy Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG), Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG and the Santos-led Gladstone LNG.  

China was the biggest buyer of the facilities' gas. Asia’s biggest economy imported 1.38mn mt of LNG, up from 1.31mn mt in the same month of previous year. South Korea imported 285,179 mt of LNG, up from 119,872 mt in the same month of last year, the data showed, while Japan imported 127,836 mt of LNG, versus 134,203 mt a year earlier.

In 2018, Queensland projects shipped record 20.57mn mt of LNG from the Port of Gladstone, up 1.7% yr/yr
