Oz East Coast LNG Exports Drop in November

The three LNG export projects in the Australian state of Queensland shipped 1.86mn metric tons of LNG in November, down 3% yr/yr, the latest data published by Gladstone Ports Corporation showed.

The three export projects are ConocoPhillips-Origin Energy Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG), Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG and the Santos-led Gladstone LNG.  

China was the biggest buyer of the facilities' gas. Asia’s biggest economy imported 1.31mn mt of LNG, down from 1.48mn mt in the same month of the previous year. South Korea imported 364,805 mt of LNG, up from 231,339 mt in the same month of last year, the data showed. Japan imported 65,667 mt of LNG, versus 140,839 mt a year earlier.

In 2018, Queensland projects shipped record 20.57mn mt of LNG from the Port of Gladstone, up 1.7% yr/yr.
