Oz APLNG Ships 500th Cargo

Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) facility on Curtis Island in Queensland has shipped its 500th cargo, ConocoPhillips Australia announced on June 11.

“Today we are celebrating the safe loading and sailing of our 500th LNG cargo at the Australia Pacific LNG facility, nearly four and a half years since our first cargo sailed in January 2016 and ten years since we became part of the Gladstone community,” ConocoPhillips Australia president, Nicholas McKenna, said.

APLNG, a joint venture comprising Origin, ConocoPhillips and Sinopec, is Australia’s largest producer of coalbed methane (CBM) and supplies gas to Queensland’s domestic gas market, while also processing CBM into LNG for exports.

Australian Origin Energy operates the APLNG gas fields, upstream production, and pipeline system, while ConocoPhillips Australia is the downstream operator.
