Orca, Senex Complete Fracking on Hornet-1

Orca Energy and operator Senex Energy have completed fracture stimulation operations at the Hornet-1 well in the southern Cooper Basin, Proactive Investors Australia has reported.

In total, six zones were stimulated in the Patchawarra Formation between the depths of 2,489 metres and 2,678 metres.

Hornet-1 well was drilled in 2004 and intersected gas shows in the Epsilon Formation and 28 metres of net gas pay in the Patchawarra Formation. Two drill stem tests were conducted on this well and resulted in gas flowing to surface, Proactive Investors said citing company statement.

Orca has a 20% interest in PEL 115, which also hosts the Kingston Rule‐1 well that flowed 1.2 million cubic feet of gas per day earlier this month following the completion of fracking operations.
